About Me

Hi, I’m Gautam.

I’m an engineering leader, founder, and someone who can’t stop building things. I run Proferent, an AI advisory practice where I work with engineering leadership teams on AI adoption, architecture, and deployment.

I build what I advise on. I’m currently working on AI-powered search systems, on-device ML applications, and local LLM infrastructure for organizations that want AI without cloud dependency. I write about what I learn on my blog, and make videos about AI systems on YouTube.

Before this, I spent 15 years building and leading software teams at Parity Technologies, Microsoft, and my own company. I co-authored Beginning Blockchain (Apress) and host Fine Tuned, a podcast about AI adoption.

Outside of work, I’m a hobbyist DJ, aspiring stand-up comic, and a serious coffee person. Originally from India, living in Berlin.
